The Talent & Development Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Talent & Development Department and promoting the T&D Department and the Beaver Companies in a courteous and professional manner.
Main Job Tasks & Responsibilities
- Performs administrative services to support the T&D Department
- Assist in the coordination of our Co-Op Program
- Register for career fairs
- Prepare marketing kits for the career fair attendees and restock as needed
- Send communications requesting voluntary attendance for career fairs
- Track and maintain list of career fair volunteers
- Review and file candidate resumes
- Schedule interviews between the candidate and interview team(s)
- Attend interviews both in-person and virtually, and take notes to report back to the Talent & Development Manager
- Schedule the Co-Op Kickoff Day and send individual invites to the presenters
- Maintain communication with incoming Co-ops before their Kickoff Day (touch-bases, welcome messages, etc.)
- Work with field leadership team members on various jobsites to plan and schedule Co-Op field trips
- Communicate the field trip schedule to the Co-Ops
- Schedule Lunch and Learns
- Schedule the final presentation day for the Co-Ops
- Assist with the Career Development/Mentorship Program for the field
- Hold a check-in with all field and management new hires each month to discuss their mentorship pairing; determine if changes need to be made
- Regularly assess the mentor/mentee pairings to be sure they are mutually beneficial
- Schedule mentor/mentee meetings and invite other team members for weigh-in as needed
- Assist with the coordination of the Apprenticeship Program
- Track measurables
- Track the Top Apprentices
- Attend meetings with the Apprenticeship Program group
- Assist with the planning, scheduling, and measurement of following programs and events:
- Annual Trades Summit
- LEAD (Leadership Training for field members)
- Management Lunch and Learns
- Trainings as needed
- Participate in career fairs and exploration events at high schools and trade schools
- Engages in showcasing career path opportunities within the construction industry and the Beaver Companies at various events
- Coordinate involvement with the union training centers to keep current with the training programs they can provide
- Provide support to the field employees by answering questions and/or responding to concerns regarding training/development
- Assist the Administration team by serving as backup to the Drawings department when needed
- Other tasks as assigned by Ownership or the Talent and Development Manager

Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate degree preferred
- 2-3 years of administrative-type work experience preferred
