This position is responsible for freight car inspection and repair. You will participate in inspecting, repairing and maintaining railcars consistent with industry standards, company requirements and AAR/FRA requirements. Employees will be required to use hand tools, power tools, welding and cutting equipment and measuring instruments as well as operate forklifts, torches, and welders, compressors and railcar jacks. Training is provided.
· Make weld repairs on railcars (training provided)
· Inspect car components for compliance with FRA and AAR standards
· Identify or analyze defective components and determine the necessary corrective action
· Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety and operations
