Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). In this key leadership role, the ADON will work closely with the Director of Nursing to oversee the clinical operations of our facility. The ideal candidate will be passionate about long-term care, possess strong leadership abilities, and have a genuine commitment to enhancing the lives of our residents.
Qualifications:
- Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience in a long-term care setting, with progressive leadership responsibilities preferred.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of geriatric nursing principles and practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Understanding of state and federal regulations governing long-term care facilities.
- Commitment to promoting resident-centered care and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to ensure the delivery of high-quality nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Provide leadership and supervision to nursing staff, including Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Certified Nursing Assistants.
- Conduct regular assessments of resident needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care practices, implementing changes as needed to improve resident outcomes.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to nursing staff, providing guidance and support in clinical decision-making and professional development.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives, including audits, performance improvement projects, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and orientation of new nursing staff members.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, open communication, and a culture of respect and dignity for all.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
