General Description
Service Coordinators work alongside students to identify their transition goals and connect them to the vast array of services and supports at ScenicView Academy. Service Coordinators facilitate communication between students, families, and staff to help students work through challenges and reach their goals. Service Coordinators also support students by assisting them in planning, scheduling, and coordinating skill acquisition in their journey toward living an independent and fulfilling life.
Specific Duties
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team in coordinating services to optimize student progress in achieving Live, Work, and Thrive Outcomes.
- Gather programming recommendations for each student from assessment information, Skills Specialists, and parents.
- Collaborate with Skills Specialists regarding student needs, services, schedules, plans, and progress.
- Work collaboratively with the student to determine outcomes that will be worked on through transition planning.
- Assist students in scheduling classes and 1-on-1s that align with student plans.
- Review program attendance, behavior, and engagement scores to identify barriers to student success and work with students and staff to find solutions.
- Regularly discuss plans and progress with students and parents. Assist students in communicating progress to their parents.
- Assist students in understanding ScenicView policy and procedures as necessary.
- Under the direction and with the support of Supervisory Review, organize interventions in response to student risk behaviors and accidental incidents.
Communication
- Collaboration about the students you are currently assigned to work with is always encouraged, and should take place in formal office hours or meetings, and informally through email, text, phone calls, etc. ScenicView values assertive, constructive communication.
- When communicating avoid:
- Sharing non-objective observations about students and student behaviors.
- Involving yourself in students’ personal issues and decisions that do not directly impact your specialty and assignments.
- Telling other staff how to do their job, criticizing job performance, criticizing the program, gossiping or colluding in any form.
- Communicating while emotions are high and volatile (i.e. reactivity).
- Overly aggressive or passive communication styles.
Time Off
- Request time off from Program Supervisor.
- Coordinate coverage needs with Program Supervisor, other Service Coordinators and/or Interns.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
- Ability to do the job as described.
- Potential of pay increase for different education levels.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
