We are looking for a Regional Nurse for our Tennessee, Alabama, and Louisiana area facilities. We are looking for a candidate with prior Director of Nursing experience that is looking to advance their career to the next level. The successful candidate will be able to utilize her/his experience to bring our clinical systems and facilities to the highest of quality care and regulatory compliance. This position participates in mock surveys for assigned facilities and may assist such facilities during annual and complaint surveys, including preparation and implementation of plans of correction.
Travel Requirement: This job requires travelinf four days a week.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in the development, maintaining, and implementation of nursing policies and procedures that conform to current standards of evidence-based nursing practice while maintaining compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
- Communicates and interprets policies and procedures to nursing staff, and monitors staff practices and implementation.
- Assist Facilities Directors of Nursing in the establishing, implementing, and monitoring of the infection control program designed to provide a safe, sanitary and comfortable environment designed to prevent the transmission of disease and infection.
- Oversees the development and delivery of in-service education to equip facility nursing staff with knowledge and skills to provide quality care to patients.
- Collaborates with department heads, interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement and evaluate programs and services to maintain a high quality of care for patients.
Qualifications and Experience requirements:
- Current RN license
- 5 years clinical management experience, in a long term care environment
- 3 plus years DON experience is highly preferred
- Extensive experience with quality measures
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long term care administration.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- The ability to communicate well with employees and families about their issues
- The ability to strongly encourage and support higher acuity and use of the latest technology
