```Duties```
- Diagnose and treat dental malocclusions and oral abnormalities
- Develop treatment plans for patients based on their individual needs
- Install, adjust, and remove orthodontic appliances such as braces, retainers, and aligners
- Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and provide instructions for care of orthodontic appliances
- Collaborate with other dental professionals, such as oral surgeons and periodontists, to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical record systems (Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix)
```Experience```
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school
- Completion of an accredited orthodontic residency program
- Current state dental license and orthodontic specialty license
- Experience working in a dental office or clinic setting
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry and the unique needs of young patients
- Strong understanding of dental anatomy and occlusion
- Proficiency in patient assessment and diagnosis of malocclusions
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients and explain treatment options
- Experience with medical documentation and maintaining accurate patient records
