About the role:
This role involves designing and implementing material and information flow processes across the entire materials value stream. This encompasses activities such as supplier related issues, receiving, storage, order picking, delivery, and returns. Additionally, the position is responsible for creating efficient material presentation at the manufacturing line side. By working backward from the production line, the focus is on designing information flow, layout, and material presentation using methodologies like PFEP (Plan for Every Part), kitting, sequencing, and kanban. The ultimate goal is to optimize the internal end-to-end supply chain system and ensure an accurate, safe and efficient material flow in collaboration with a cross-functional team.
What you will do:

In a warehouse, assembly and fabrication environment, make improvements on material and information flow throughout the entire materials value stream utilizing technology and established lean tools. Design assembly and fabrication line side replenishment methods such as kitting, sequencing & kanban. Design line side supermarkets and replenishment routs. Conduct labor and equipment resource calculations.

Manage the materials technicians (VSAs) who are responsible for efficient part delivery to production areas, maintaining accurate part placement and system data, execute daily material flow signaling, expedite parts as needed to point-of-use, and effectively communicate and follow up on shortages within the team’s area of responsibility. Conduct root cause analyses for material shortages and implement effective countermeasures.

Responsible for creating KPIs in order to make improvements and countermeasures in key business functions using Industrial Engineering knowledge.

Work cross functionally in the launch of new products and the implementation of part changes with the goal of ensuring all databases reflect the changing conditions, the material flow and point of use required by production are accurately mapped all the way back to the supplier for effective material delivery to the point of use.

Supports the capital planning process and new process design implementation from an Industrial Engineering and Material Flow perspective

Improve packaging and labeling by working cross-functionally with production, warehouse, purchasing, suppliers & 3PL
When & Where:
Normal work hours are on site from 7am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. Some weekend work and minimal to no travel.
What you need to have:

Bachelor's Degree required, industrial engineering or similar

7-10 years job related experience preferred

Factory layout design using 2D design software Ex. Auto CAD & 3d software such as creo

Demonstrated complex problem solving capabilities and solution implementation

Ability to identify and eliminate waste in the process

Good verbal and written communication skills

Excellent in Excel & knowledge of WMS, ERP, MES & other supply chain technology systems

Ability to use lean techniques (5S, VSM, time & motion study)

Ability to work independently on multiple complex tasks simultaneously
