Nature of work: The Mental Health Provider (MHP) is responsible for providing trauma assessments, therapy services, crisis interventions, information, and support to child victims of abuse and their non-offending family members. All CACIC MHP’s will utilize trauma-focused evidence-based therapy models. The MHP is also responsible for active participation in the multidisciplinary teams serving our counties.
Required Qualifications:
1. Master’s Degree in a mental health field. MHPs must be licensed or provisionally licensed and supervised by a licensed mental health professional.
2. Training in evidence-based modality for treatment of trauma in children (TF-CBT, EMDR, or CPP preferred; PCIT, PSB-CBT, AF-CBT, CFTSI also acceptable) preferred. If hired and the clinician is not trained in an EBT, they will be afforded the opportunity to complete training.
3. Participation in ongoing supervision/consultation, peer review and advanced training opportunities as possible.
4. Two years experience in working with childhood trauma preferred.
5. Skilled in crisis intervention with children and adults.
6. Working knowledge of the dynamics of child abuse, ability to establish rapport with children, clients and other professionals, and patient demeanor.
7. Strong team building, problem solving, organizational and oral communication skills with a flexible nature and drive to complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal direction.
8. No criminal convictions or child maltreatment findings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
1. Provide trauma assessments to child victims that meet criteria set forth in the CACIC Mental Health Policies.
2. Carrying an ongoing caseload of clients on site based on the CACIC Mental Health Policies.
3. Crisis intervention and evaluation as needed for victims and families.
4. Ensuring that victims and families are referred to mental health agencies in accordance with CACIC policy to obtain additional services as needed.
5. Establishing and maintaining case management files on each case in the system. This includes the timely completion of appropriate forms and data entry requirements.
6. Coordinating with appropriate agencies regarding child maltreatment cases during the investigation and actively participates in case reviews with CACIC team and Multidisciplinary Team.
7. Promote stable and cooperative working relationships between all CACIC team members, Multidisciplinary team members, and community agencies.
8. Other duties as assigned or requested by the Executive Director.
