Position Summary:
A Creative Genius Learning Academy is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Pre-K Teacher to support our lead teacher in providing high-quality early childhood education. The Assistant Pre-K Teacher will work closely with the lead teacher to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for preschool-aged children. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the educational and social-emotional development of young learners.
Responsibilities:
Classroom Support:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities that promote children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Help prepare materials, set up learning centers, and maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
- Supervise and engage with children during free play, group activities, and outdoor playtime.
- Provide individualized support to children who may need extra assistance or encouragement.
Behavior Management:
- Assist in maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere by modeling appropriate behavior and enforcing classroom rules and routines.
- Support the lead teacher in managing children's behavior through positive reinforcement strategies and redirection techniques.
- Communicate effectively with children to address conflicts, resolve issues, and promote social skills development.
Individualized Instruction:
- Work collaboratively with the lead teacher to assess children's progress and adapt instruction to meet their individual needs and interests.
- Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to reinforce learning concepts and skills introduced by the lead teacher.
- Document observations of children's behavior and developmental milestones for use in planning and assessment.
Parent Communication:
- Assist in maintaining regular communication with parents, including sharing information about children's daily activities, accomplishments, and areas for growth.
- Support the lead teacher in conducting parent-teacher conferences and other meetings to discuss children's progress and address any concerns or questions.
Professional Development:
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with the lead teacher and other staff members to share ideas, resources, and strategies for improving classroom practices and student outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (preferred).
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in a classroom setting.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles, theories, and best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow the lead teacher's guidance.
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
