Purchasing Assistant
Overview:
Join our team as a Purchasing Assistant and play a crucial role in our procurement process. As a Purchasing Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the purchasing team in sourcing materials, negotiating contracts, and logistics management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you can utilize your skills in materials management, supply chain management, and sourcing. On site position Monday to Thursday 9am to 6pm, Fridays 9am to 1pm.
Duties:
- Assist in sourcing materials, quotes and identifying potential suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors to secure favorable terms and pricing.
- Match vendor invoices to purchase orders.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Determine order requirements based on variables such as sales pipeline and historical data.
- Maintain a tracking system (initially using Excel, transitioning to a project management software) to ensure timely follow-ups and set reminders for key dates and tasks.
- Support the purchasing team in analyzing market trends and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to address any supply chain issues or delays effectively.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in purchasing, procurement, or related field.
- Strong negotiation skills to secure advantageous contracts.
- Ability to perform calculations based on pre-existing formulas, maintaining tracking systems, setting reminders, and managing data.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with vendors and an ability to recognize unreasonable quotes.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
