Summary
The Court Involved Youth (CIY) Engagement Specialist works closely with consumers to ensure that they attend and fully participate in their treatment/care with the agency. The Engagement Specialist contacts and sets up new referrals, helps to set up appointments and meets consumers during the intake/assessment process. The Engagement Specialist immediately begins the process of establishing a relationship with children and families served. The Engagement Specialist follows-up with consumers when they miss appointments and engages and problem-solves with them to try to assist with overcoming barriers to coming for services. The specialist plays a critical role in working with consumers so that they understand the division’s attendance policy, and assists consumers to find alternative treatment settings when they need to be discharged from care. CIY Engagement Specialist will prepare reports for CIY project quarterly basis.

Essential Functions:
- Contacts new referrals, sets up Call Center information in Welligent and works with Clinician to set up Appointments
- Assists interns with intake/assessment information during visits and/or meets consumers, when possible, to start the engagement process. Assists consumers with completion of intake paperwork.
- Carries a caseload of ~20 and provides weekly counseling for clients in caseload.
- Responsible for monitoring attendance of all program clients and enforcing the agency attendance policy including providing assistance when a client will be discharged as per policy guidelines.
- Assists front desk staff with central scheduling and other activities related to scheduling of clients and monitoring attendance.
- Works with treatment team to assist with referrals internally and to external community-based organizations. Assists program staff with maintaining up-to-date referral information for other community providers.
- Ensures good customer service.
- Assess CCNY active clients age 13-25 for court involvement; assess and prepare data every 3 months to determine at risk youth for legal issues.
- Other assignments, as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Master's Degree in Social Work or related field.
- Maintain NYS MSW/MHC/MFT licensure.
Qualifications Preferred:
- Experience working with adults, adolescent, children and families.
- Flexibility with schedule—evenings and some weekends required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish/Bengali/Haitian)
