Position Description:
- Candidate will be an employee of the Fiber Plant Facilities Department. The person shall provide technical support in the area of Facilities support equipment
- Provide support in the manufacturing of optical fiber with a focus on facilities management
- Compliant with all requirements in 40 CFR 261-265 concerning hazardous wastes including but not limited to labeling, storage and transportation of hazardous wastes from production areas to Waste Storage Pad
- Work with the technical staff to resolve daily issues
- Support the commissioning of new equipment for production
- Ensure all product meets requirements as defined by the Plant’s Quality Management Systems
- Comply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or a member of management
Education Required:
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering experience
- Minimum three years experience
Experience Required:
- Must complete OJT for specific job classification, as required, in a timely manner
Preferred:
- Experience in fiber optic manufacturing a plus
- Experience with Chiller maintenance and optimization
- Experience with pollution control equipment (Baghouse, Scrubber etc…)
- Experience with Compressor maintenance and optimization
- Experience with high purity piping and gas delivery systems
- Experience with fire detection equipment
- Experience with power distribution systems and UPS systems
Skills/Attributes:
