JOB PURPOSE/ROLE:
The AFM & SAG-AFTRA Intellectual Property Rights Distribution Fund is a growing royalty collective that takes pride in collecting and distributing royalties to vocalists and musicians whose recordings are used in the U.S. and overseas.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Associate to join our Repertoire department. The Associate researches assigned sound recordings to ensure performers are appropriately credited for royalty distribution. The ideal candidate will possess an interest and appreciation for a variety of music genres.
NOTE: This is a temporary full-time position with the possibility of becoming permanent.
PRIMARY AND SECONDARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
PRIMARY FUNCTION/RESPONSIBILITY
1. Performs research to identify performers on sound recordings and/or underscore via web sites, liner notes, and other resources based on policy and procedure established for the department
2. Maintains accuracy of database records and communicates necessary corrections to the relevant department as necessary
3. Collaborates with other researchers to gain knowledge and work together to make final research decisions when information is inconclusive
Education & Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Appreciation or passion for music and safeguarding performer rights
- Bilingual in Spanish or French helpful
