Major Responsibilities
· Must be able to identify key requirements for projects and tasks.
· Identify appropriate software and workflow for analytical methods.
· Prepare test plans to be employed internally or externally.
· Develop geometrical and kinematic relationships for product analysis.
· Develop materials mechanics model for FEA analysis.
· Perform analysis and interpret results.
· Prepare analysis and test reports.
· Personally, conduct and/or oversee tests.
· Writing test plans for finite element modeling, data collection process, and model calibration and correlation studies, using various analytical methods and engineering tools (e.g. MathCAD, MATLAB, Abaqus, ANSYS, Excel, etc.)
· Must be willing and able to obtain input and feedback from multiple “expert” sources, such as consultants, suppliers, polymer scientists, and chemists.
· Oversee third party analyses/approvals/project directed development; develop and maintain applicable documentation files.
· Stay current with the latest technology regarding direction drilling, mud motors, and analytical techniques useful in development.
· Must be able to interpret data from various sources and draw meaningful conclusions.
· Perform root cause analysis of failures in product use and testing.
· Work with cross-functional teams to develop and improve products, as well as to help vendors improve their processes, resulting in industry leading technology and component reliability.
· Participate on cross-functional, international project teams to support product order development related to customer orders.
· Work with customers directly or indirectly to address failures, queries, concerns, or ideas as applicable.
· Provide technical training as required for the application and sales departments.
· Ability to work extended hours as necessary to fulfill responsibilities.
