Position: Systems Engineer
Location: McLean, VA
Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with full scope polygraph required.
Overview: We seek a Systems Engineer for a long-term engagement to support operational needs in McLean, VA. This role involves system architecture development, project integration, and operations within an intelligence community context. The successful candidate will design, develop, test, and implement new network solutions using contemporary technologies, manage compliance through the assessment and authorization process, and engage in the lifecycle management of online identity accounts. Additionally, the role includes analyzing new technologies and managing multiple project integrations to enhance operational capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a new network architecture utilizing current technologies.
- Secure necessary approvals and ensure continuous compliance throughout system lifecycles.
- Collaborate with users to identify and develop system requirements.
- Conduct operational testing and suggest improvements for system and software enhancements.
- Facilitate coordination across organizational units to streamline technology approvals.
- Evaluate new technologies to determine their integration and utility within existing systems.
- Manage the lifecycle of online identity accounts programmatically.
- Oversee requirements gathering and outcome management for online identity solutions.
- Plan and manage multiple projects related to infrastructure development and exploitation platforms.
- Support data integration efforts to enhance analytical capabilities.
- Host technical exchange meetings to align business and technical requirements with stakeholders.
Mandatory Skills & Experience:
- Expertise in designing and implementing secure network communication solutions.
- Proven ability in deploying infrastructure within public cloud environments.
- Familiarity with Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 503 and related security frameworks.
- Experience in Assessment and Accreditation (A&A) processes, including system development, implementation, and operation.
- Competence in applying system security controls and resolving security issues.
- Skills in triaging and troubleshooting system problems.
- Ability to produce comprehensive technical documentation.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure design for mobile and commercial applications.
- Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in information security practices.
- Experience in secure data handling and transfer.
- Ability to develop and present system designs using approved tools.
- Experience briefing system designs to diverse audiences to secure operational and security approvals.
- Required certifications include ISC2 CISSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps, and Red Hat Systems Administrator.
Optional Desired Skills & Experience:
- Experience with specific customer systems, architecture, and data environments.
- Proven ability to coordinate across organizational boundaries to expedite technology approval.
- Additional certifications such as ISACA CISM, Splunk Certification, and EC-Council CEH.

Pay: $160,800.00 - $250,000.00 per year
