Plant Manager

Summary: TFP Nutrition is currently constructing a new dry pet food manufacturing facility in Platteville, Colorado. We are looking for a motivated and self-starting leader that will be responsible for the entire operations of the facility in Platteville. This position will be the face of the company to the community and be the main point of contact for the facility.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the entire sites: Human Safety, Food Safety, and Operational Compliance.
· Responsible for meeting and managing the sites’ operational cost metrics.
· Responsible for collaborating with cross functional teams such as Quality and EHS to achieve the sites compliance goals.
· Effective and timely training to achieve TFP Nutrition job priorities, utilize effective systems, and consistently follow methods and training that effectively meet productivity expectations.
· Determine factory layout improvements for efficiency and participate in new upcoming products development. Lead plant tours to customers displaying our team members’ cleanliness, honesty, knowledge, and culture.
· Build a safety culture that drives safety performance to the level of Excellence, not average.
Supervisory Duties
· Direct Reports: Assistant Plant Manager, Maintenance Manager, and Warehouse Manager
· Supervisory Duties: Developing an effective team that directly supervises all team members in the Factory. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Background and Skill Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree or relevant experience
· Minimum of 10 years of experience in a supervisory or plant management role.
· Technical Training or practical experience in leading and executing continuous improvement strategies.
· Highly Analytical and Metric driven performance background.
· Experience in working on or commissioning plant automation control systems.
· Experience in managing facility maintenance.
· Experience with new plant start up or new system commissioning.
· Familiar with FSMA, SQF, or other Food Safety programs
· Proficient in all Microsoft office suite software and familiar with ERP systems.
