Job Title: Culinary Instructor Internship
Travel Required: 100% Travel Required
Hours: Part time 8-12 hours per week, 9:00 am - 2:00 pm, 3:00- 6:30 pm
Pay: $18 – $22 hourly
The culinary instructor will lead and instruct students through an after-school TEKS curriculum - based culinary program within local school districts.

Role and Responsibilities
1. Supervise, and instruct students in curriculum – based culinary arts.
2. Attend Professional Development trainings.
3. Other duties include taking student attendance, helping clean up classrooms after program use.
4. Ensure the completion and accuracy of all required documentation for the culinary after-school program.
5. Uphold professionalism with students, program partners including principals, teachers, and parents.
6.Provide Mentorship qualities
Internship Schedules
Training: April 22- May 17th 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm
Summer 2024 Session I : 9:00 am – 2:00 pm starting June 6th – July 14th
Summer 2024 Session II: July 14th – August 31st select workshops & special projects.
Fall 2024 Session: September – December 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Spring 2025 Session: January - May 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Education Requirements
- High School graduate/ equivalent required, cooking school or culinary institute education or equivalent experience.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Experience working with school aged children (4-18)
- Minimum two years culinary or related work experience.
- Current SERV Safe certificate.
Qualifications
- Be fluent in oral and written English and have effective communication skills. Bilingual is a plus.
- Must be energetic, patient and have an interest with working with the youth and adults.
- Must be able to pass a background check. Fingerprinting clearance required before beginning work in school districts.
- Thorough understanding of quality customer food service and preparation.
- This role requires uniforms.
- Must be dependable and have transportation to the assigned school. Must be able to work independently without supervision.
- Must be willing to travel anywhere up to 30 miles with Harris County.

Additional Notes
Culinary Instructor will travel to multiple schools within Harris County per week.
