The Designer I is responsible for design efforts related to the delivery of turn-key control system projects (DCS, SIS, PLC, etc.) across multiple company locations. Work in coordination with company design and automation teams to provide project documentation and drawings of electrical and mechanical systems. The main focus of this position is the timely and accurate development of project drawings and related technical documentation.
- Prepares typical I&C deliverables such as control panel layouts and wiring, BOM, wiring/termination drawings, power distribution, cable schedule, loop diagrams, installation details, etc.
- Adheres to compliance with industry I&C design guidelines, standards, specifications and procedures.
- Coordinates work activities with other staff members and discipline leads.
- Coordinates with engineers and designers for initial design and drawing requirements.
- Assists in identifying the plan and procedures essential for implementation of a system.
- Research products and materials frequently used in designing industrial control systems; prepares documentation for approval and procurement.
- Participates in development of technical schedules and final documentation packages.
- Requests project material quotes and follows up on orders.
- Perform job function of CAD Technician as required.
- Assists with implementations and field installations as required.
- Prepares miscellaneous project reporting as requested.
- Analyzes environmental requirements of new implementations and reports as necessary.
- Support and interface with Manufacturing for proper fabrication of systems.
