Department History Overview:
Harris County Resources for Children and Adults was founded in 1966 as the Harris County Child Welfare Board to provide support services for the children taken under the wing of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Fifty years later, Harris County Resources for Children and Adults still provides this support. But the now-county department has expanded services for early prevention, intervention, and adult services.

Advancement Coordinator Overview:
Under the supervision of the Foundation Initiatives Manager, the Advancement Coordinator plays a key role in the HAY Center's overall advancement, including fund development, marketing, social media, and other efforts.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Accountable for measurable development outcomes, donor development, relations, and donor retention.
Assists in creating and managing a public relations plan, including marketing and social media, to serve as advancement tools.
Attends networking, community outreach, and HAY Center youth engagement events.
Responsible for internal management of all fundraising events and appeals, including all logistics, budget management, and working with event campaign chairs, committees, and board members.
Assists with grant making, reporting, and management.

Education:
Experience:
Minimum two (2) years of continuous full-time paid work experience in grant management and advancement.
Training and experience using a personal computer with a variety of software such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and any visualization software.
Licensure:

Ability to handle stressful situations with tact and diplomacy are also necessary.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be responsible and self-disciplined and work independently.
