The Capital Candy Jar is DC's hometown candy company. We have been in business for 10 years. We make and sell candy from our store in the Capitol Hill East neighborhood. We are looking for someone to join our production team to help make and package candy.
Job responsibilities include:
- Packaging candy (We make many different types of candy and you will be responsible for packaging all of the finished candy so that it can be sold to our retail and wholesale customers)
- Helping customers (scooping ice cream, ringing up transactions, answering questions.)
Qualifications
- 1-2 years experience working in food production in a commercial kitchen.
- Knowledge of food safety standards
- Able to follow sanitation protocols in a food processing environment
- Able to lift 50lbs
- Basic math skills for packaging and inventory tasks
- Available to work 30-40 hours per week
- Available to work Saturday or Sunday or both
- Must be vaccinated for Covid 19
This is a fast paced work environment. Candidates are expected to be self starters and be able to work quickly and efficiently. Most shifts will be sometime between 10am and 8pm. Hours tend to be much more reasonable than working in restaurants or other food service organizations.
