Reporting directly to the Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainment (EHS&S) Manager, the EHS&S Technician is responsible for supporting the facility personnel regarding health, safety and environmental program. This position will align with and support the Bottling plant Manager.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Kind & Length of Experience:
- 2+ years safety experience within a chemical or manufacturing facility
- Pursuing in a safety degree or certification is a plus
- Self-motivated and a team player
- High level of oral and written communication and training skills
- FDA and GMP experience would be a plus.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Solid understanding and application of basic math principles
- Being on your feet for up to 4 hours at a time.
- Ability to walk up and down steps and ladders
- Ability to interact with employees at all levels within the organization
- Experience in developing training programs and presenting safety training
- Attention to detail
- Proven ownership skills
PERFORMANCE MEASURES AND STANDARDS
- Support all department to meet the company’s overall Plant goals.
- Author and approve SDS for the site, as necessary.
- Acts as liaison for EHS&S activities within the organization and support all other departments/locations in the business as needed.
- Track all EHS&S metrics and report out to business units.
- Support track and maintain behavior base safety programs.
- Maintains facility records in accordance with OSHA/EPA/DOT/FRA regulations.
- Experience with ISO 14001 and Responsible Care
- Maintains the industrial hygiene program site(s) programs.
- Completes all training assignments as required.
- Complies with all safety and environmental objectives/programs/policies of the facility.
- Maintain regulatory compliance requirements and permits as needed.
- Investigate accidents and incidents and audit nonconformances.
- Conduct site regulatory inspections.
- Support and maintain contractor pre-qualification program
- Review new chemicals and maintain Cremer NA product safety data sheets.
- Understand and maintain Process Safety Management requirements applicable to RC14001.
- Participate in management of change (MOC) processes; and promote continual improvement.
- Support efforts to implement and maintain the RC14001/EHS&S management system.
- Conform with the EHS&S Policy and the Cardinal Rules.
- Maintain a safe and secure workplace and meet environmental site requirements.
- Complete all required training assignments
- Adhere to all site environmental, health, safety, and security requirements, local, state, and federal regulations
- Maintain hazardous waste in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations
- Follow all RC14001 guiding principles, policies, procedures, and other requirements.
- Complete other duties as assigned
