Weekday and weekend shifts available Daylight or Overnight.
Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) play a significant role in fulfilling iHomecare Solutions vision by providing assistance with daily activities including meal prep, administering medication, and providing transportation to work or community activities in order to promote independence. iHomeCare Solutions is looking for candidates with the dedication to provide quality support to ensure a full life for the individuals, candidates that have compassion, and the motivation to help others.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP):

Valid Drivers License Required
- Provide direct care services and specialized care to individuals with Intellectual Disabilities in a residential home environment.
- Provide support and assistance to maximize the independence of the individuals.
- Participate in the development of the Individual Support Plan (ISP)
- Follow the Individual Support Plan and Behavior Support Plan as written.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the individual on a constant basis.
- Assist individuals to engage in a variety of activities in the home and community based on their likes, dislikes, and preferences
- Observe and report individuals’ behaviors or changes in physical condition.
- Report any changes in the environment that impact the individual.
- Communicate effectively to all levels of administration.
- Administer medications to individuals upon successful completion of the medication administration course; training is provided.
- Perform cooking, housekeeping and cleaning duties as assigned.
- Document required paperwork every shift (observation notes, goals, petty cash, etc.)
- Promote positive decision-making, interactions, and relationships with the individuals.
- Ensure compliance with and adhere to policies and procedures.
- Transport individuals to appointments, community outings, day program, work, etc.
- Participate in mandatory staff trainings and meetings.
- Reports to House Supervisor and Program Specialist
- The hourly rate for this position is based on experience.
- The shifts are 12 hour shifts, 7am-7pm, or 7pm-7am Weekday and weekend shifts available Daylight or Overnight. You will work alternating weeks in this position- 3 days on, 4 days off then 4 days on, 3 days off.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE OF A DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP):
- Must complete 24 hours of annual training.
- Valid driver’s license, required.
- Must be willing to participate and engage the consumer in community activities and assist with participation outcomes, required.
- Experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities, preferred not required.
