Mission
The objective of the position of the Instructor is to assure that students of Career Care Institute receive the most current training available in their chosen field of education. Instructors are responsible for all aspects of instruction; including student training and evaluation. Instructors report to the Campus Director. The core responsibilities of an instructor are to teach the current approved curriculum and provide evidenced-based research/continuing education service to the school including curriculum improvement and other administrative assignments.
Instructors must demonstrate a superior knowledge base in their specialized areas. The instructor is expected to enhance student success through the application of motivational strategies geared toward improved student outcomes. Instructors should apply superior skills in all phases of their field of specialty, subject, or program of the school’s curriculum in which they teach.
Duties and Responsibility
In addition to the following general responsibility, the is responsible for the following duties:
- Participate in instruction of students.
- Cooperate with the Campus Director and other CCI staff
- Opens and closes classroom as assigned
- Clock in and out
- Encourage and assist students experiencing difficulty with progressing in their course satisfactorily.
- Monitor student activities and physical facilities for safety compliance.
- Take attendance, monitor student assignments, report absences, tardies, grades, and student conduct violations to the registrar via the roll book.
- Document all private discussions with students pertaining to school using available vehicles such as incident reports, progress reports and/or Student Advisement Form
- Provide weekly audit reports
- Attend all staff meetings
- Maintain current working knowledge of current and federal, state, and local requirements of the field in which they teach
- Knowledge of Career Care Institute policies, syllabi and lesson plans, and current school catalog
- Monitor student breaks
- Prepare for class in advance
- Cooperate with supervisors, director(s), students, and advisory board members for improvement of the curriculum.
- Have expertise in their field and are able to demonstrate all training procedures.
- Maintain appropriate supervision of the classroom at all times
- Report any major problems to the Campus Director
- Adhere to the syllabus as designed or prescribed by Career Care Institute
- Maintain supplies and inventory and order supplies sufficiently in advance to allow for shipping
- Uphold and enforce school policies
- Demonstrate professional behavior and demeanor at all times with students and with CCI staff
- Maintain appropriate confidentially with staff and student issues
- Discourage classroom disruptions or engaging in excessive talking regarding non-school related issues
- Maintain current CPR/BLS card and/or instructor card
- Routinely review exams, tests, and if applicable quizzes on a weekly basis
- Provide progress reports for students on a monthly basis
- Participate in instructor evaluations.
- Provide a thorough orientation for students who have just entered the classroom.
Qualifications and Skills
- Is a qualified practitioner who holds either a diagnostic radiologic technology certificate issued pursuant to CCR, Title 17, section 30440 or a limited permit, issued pursuant to CCR, Title 17, section 30444 in permit categories: Chest, Extremities & Torso-Skeletal, as well to include Digital Radiography.
- Has at least three years of experience in diagnostic radiologic technology, as applicable.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills required
- Detail orientated and well-organized
- Problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment required
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Computer skills in Word and Excel
