Job Summary: The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for onboarding new employees, maintaining IT systems, providing customer support, and ensuring the security and efficiency of our technological infrastructure. This role involves setting up user accounts, managing online systems, coordinating IT equipment delivery, and offering basic web server support. There is also a component of basic office support
Key Responsibilities:
- Onboarding New Employees:
- Set up new employees in Active Directory.
- Establish usernames and passwords.
- Assign new employees to appropriate groups.
- Ensure correct setup of various online systems.
- Assign telephone numbers and coordinate delivery of new IT equipment.
- Client Onboarding Services:
- Onboard external clients, including setting up Active Directory accounts.
- Modify group policies for access to specific files on a file server.
- Customer Support:
- Provide basic support for login issues and server access queries.
- Monitor server uptime and assist with upgrades.
- Ensure programs are running correctly on servers.
- Sign people out of the server if accounts lock up.
- System and Software Management:
- Maintain a list of all software programs used within the organization.
- Track and manage user access to software programs.
- Terminate services for employees who leave the organization across all online systems.
- Web Server Support:
- Provide basic support for operating a web server.
- Assist with monitoring server uptime and ensuring functionality.
- Additional Skills:
- Experience managing a QuickBooks File Server is beneficial.
- Web hosting and programming experience is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in setting up and managing Active Directory.
- Basic knowledge of group policies and file server access.
- Experience with online system setups and IT equipment coordination.
- Strong customer support and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks File Server management is a plus.
- Basic web server operation knowledge.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Any of the following formal certifications would be a plus.
- CompTIA A+ Certification:
- Validates foundational IT skills and knowledge.
- Covers a wide range of IT topics, including hardware, software, and networking.
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Fundamentals:
- Provides a basic understanding of Windows Server operations.
- Useful for managing Active Directory and group policies.
- CompTIA Network+ Certification:
- Focuses on networking concepts and troubleshooting.
- Ensures understanding of network infrastructure and operations.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals:
- Introduces cloud concepts and Microsoft Azure services.
- Beneficial for organizations utilizing cloud solutions.
- CompTIA Security+ Certification:
- Covers essential cybersecurity skills.
- Important for ensuring the security of IT systems and data.
- ITIL Foundation Certification:
- Introduces IT service management principles.
- Helps in managing IT services effectively and efficiently.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP):
- Advanced certification for those with experience in IT security.
- Demonstrates expertise in managing and implementing security measures.
- QuickBooks Certified User:
- Specifically for managing QuickBooks File Server.
- Ensures proficiency in QuickBooks operations and troubleshooting.
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH):
- Provides knowledge in identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities.
- Useful for maintaining secure IT infrastructure.
- Certified Web Professional - Web Developer:
- Validates skills in web development and hosting.
- Useful for managing and supporting web servers.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $62,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
