The Account Clerk (Housing Assistance Payment) is responsible for routine processing of financial transactions as it relates to the disbursement of HCVP funds. Responsibilities include a variety of transaction data entry to maintain accurate financial reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, HUD regulations and Agency policy and procedures. The selected candidate will be passionate about the Authority’s mission and will strive to advance the mission, vision, and values to internal and external stakeholders.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required. An Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in accounting, finance, or business administration is strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE:Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an accounting or accounts payable environment.
SKILLS:
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated technical accounting skills and the ability to interpret financial reports.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and made decisions regarding the treatment of transactions.
- Demonstrated ability to follow policies and procedures.
- Must possess a valid State of Ohio Driver’s License, and insurable under Agency guidelines.
OTHER: Possession of a valid Ohio Vehicle Operator’s license and insurability under CMHA standards.
