Job Summary: A professional caregiver under the direction of the Director of Surgical Services, utilizes the nursing process, nursing standards & physician’s orders, plans, provides & directs care, & teaching of patients & families. Education Required: Graduate of an accredited RN training program, ADN/BSN
Experience Required: Experience in Pre-Op, Inter-Op and Post-Op required. Demonstrated competence in the clinical setting
Licensing, Certifications and/or Registrations:
- Current RN license in the Commonwealth of Kentucky
- Basic Life Support certification (within 3-months of employment)
- ACLS (within 6-months of employment
Equipment/Special Skills:
- IV equipment/pumps • Central line equipment
- Implantable ports • Enteral tubes • Catheters
- Telemetry monitors • BGCS monitor
- Surgical drains • Ostomy supplies/equipment
- Wound specialty dressings • Crash cart
- Chest tube set-up • Suction equipment
- Ventilator • Pressure relief surfaces
- Oxygen equipment
Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort:
- Works in a well lighted, ventilated & air conditioned area
- Often exposed to unpleasant odors, sights & sounds
- Long periods of standing, walking, stooping, heavy lifting
& bending, are required
- Risks exposure to disease, infection, physical strain &
assault
- Risks exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, radiations &
antineoplactic agents
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. independently
Pay: $24.76 - $41.05 per hour
