Premier Early Childhood Education Partners is a private early childhood education organization seeking a Payroll Specialist! This role will play a key role in managing the payroll process for Premier’s portfolio of centers and in implementing payroll enhancements to scale for future growth. Desire to work at a growth-oriented business with a focus on acquisitions and integrations is highly valued. Preference for candidates with specific experience in multi-site services or other retail businesses.
To be QUALIFIED for this position, we prefer a bachelor’s degree and require at least 3+ years of payroll experience. Multi-site payroll experience is required.
Required Shift: Monday – Friday, hybrid schedule: 3 days on-site in our corporate Downtown, Chicago office located at 120 S. LaSalle St. Chicago, IL 60603
Compensation: $60,000 - $65,000 annually + annual bonus; based on experience and education

Main Job Responsibilities:

Payroll Specialist will lead the payroll process at 40+ centers. This includes correspondence with operations team member, updating payroll system for employee changes, executing processing of payroll in timely manner.

Serve as a technical point-of-contact and Subject Matter Expert for payroll processing and assists with ensuring payroll data integrity for salaried and hourly employees.

Monitor shared payroll mailbox and resolve issues as they arise.

Coordinate new state tax ID applications for acquisitions.

Work with tax authorities to resolve payroll tax notices and open issues.

Work across departments to implement payroll process improvements.

Collaborate with Accounting Team on ad hoc payroll-related projects.

Become authority within Premier on payroll system (Paylocity) and work closely with Paylocity Account Manager to ensure procedures are scalable with Premier’s growth.

Resolves issues and answers payroll-related questions.

Ad hoc reporting, audit assistance and other initiatives and duties as assigned.
