Gaithersburg, MD, health insurance consulting company is seeking an individual for our Full Time-Billing Department Administrative Assistant Supervisor Position.
Requirements:
Ability to type 30 words per minute or greater.
Two or more years of college.
LPN or AS Equivalent. (No nights or weekends)
Medical terminology experience a plus.
AHIMA or AAPC Certification encouraged; but, willing to train.
Able to communicate clearly both verbal and non verbal.
Able to be organized, do multi tasks and pay close attention to details.
Enjoys working with the medical personnel and other professionals via phone, email and fax.
Likes to accept a challenge.
Knowledge of medical insurance terms helpful.
The position includes, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
- Typing skills of 50 words per minute or greater.
- Answering and transferring incoming calls to the appropriate employees.
- Computer data entry and calling medical providers.
- Claim verification and medical billing.
- Greeting and handling walk-in clients, vendors and delivery agents.
- Faxing documents.
- Scanning and filing of documents.
- Candidate must be reliable, punctual and demonstrate attention to detail.
- Able to work independently, as well as work well with others.
- Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Data Entry experience is ideal and typing must be 40wpm or better.
- Two years of college a plus.
Work under the direction of the Billing Department Supervisor.
- Clerical/administrative duties as assigned.
