FRONT DESK SECURITY OFFICER
Hours: 5 PM - 5 AM shift split between 2 guards
Must be willing to work overnight and weekends

JOB SUMMARY
Brick Lane has an exciting job opportunity for a Front Desk Security Officer at our West Baltimore property, Fredrick Douglas Apartments. This opportunity is a 1099 contractor role, paid bi-weekly (every two weeks) through company payroll system. The Front Desk Security Officer reports to the Property Manager and VP of Asset Management.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ensure the overall safety of the building during the designated shift being sure to keep exterior doors secured.
· Conduct regular patrols of the premises to detect and remove any unauthorized access individuals or suspicious activities.
· Monitor building entrances, exits, and other access points to prevent unauthorized entry.
· Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to detect any suspicious activity by Identifying those people who do let any unauthorized guests in, pulling down the footage from the camera system to clearly identify the offender, tracking them down (figure out whether one of our residents or Penn North program member) and working with the police to have the offender trespassed off of the property and not allowed back.
· Verify the identification of employees, visitors, and contractors entering the building.
· Maintain a visible presence at the security desk or control room throughout the shift.
· Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify and respond to any security breaches or emergencies by engaging the police.
· Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, and take appropriate action as per established protocols.
· Report and document all incidents, accidents, and unusual occurrences during the shift accurately and in a timely manner.
· Provide assistance and guidance to building occupants in emergency situations, such as evacuations or lockdowns.
· Conduct routine inspections of fire safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers and emergency exits, and report any deficiencies.
· Perform security checks on equipment, doors, windows, and other vulnerable areas to ensure they are secure.
· Enforce building rules and regulations, including parking regulations, after-hours access policies, and visitor management procedures.
· Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies and emergency services when necessary.
· Maintain professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in all interactions with building occupants and colleagues.
· Follow all company policies and guidelines regarding security operations and code of conduct.
· Working with Brick Lane corporate and site team to forge a relationship with the local police department.
· Accurate daily reporting sent to management team.
REQUIREMENTS
· At the end of each shift, the security officer must compile a detailed daily report of activities and incidents encountered during the shift. These reports should be sent to property manager and regional manager as specified, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
· Previous experience in security or front desk work is preferred
- Guard Card is required
· Knowledge of surveillance monitoring
· Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations
· First Aid, CPR, or other relevant certifications are a plus
· It is essential for the officer to comply with the specific policies and procedures outlined by their employer or the building management company.
· Ability to follow automated onboarding steps on a computer through Brick Lane’s payroll provider, ADP to include providing a social security number and two forms of identification.
· Must be willing and able to undergo a criminal background screening.
· Reliable transportation to and from work.
· Ability to punch in and out daily and keep a accurate time card.
· Must be willing to work overnight and weekends
