We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Pre-Op/PACU unit. As a PACU Nurse, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the safe recovery of patients following surgical procedures. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth and professional development.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen levels
- Assess patients' pain levels and administer appropriate pain management techniques
- Provide post-operative care, including wound care and monitoring for any complications
- Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Administer medications as prescribed by physicians
- Assist with patient education regarding post-operative care and recovery
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
- Minimum of [2] years of experience in PACU or related field
- Familiarity with family planning procedures and sterile processing techniques
- Proficient in assessing vital signs and providing appropriate interventions
- Experience in an ICU or ambulatory surgery center setting is preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification ; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and PALS are required
- Ability to phlebotomize and perform venipuncture as needed
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
