Our growing company is seeking an experienced accounting assistant to join our team. An employee in this position provides administrative and technical support for Plaza Companies accounting department. The employee will be expected to have thorough knowledge of processing A/P, A/R and working in an office environment. This person would be expected to have the skills and abilities to regularly interact with employees and vendors of the company in person, via email and/or by telephone. This position requires a person who has a high attention to detail. Prior accounting experience directly in commercial real estate/property management and construction is a plus.
Duties for a person in this position include but are not limited to:
· Receiving, organizing, coding and posting all invoices related to multiple assigned commercial properties
· Research missing or overdue invoices
· Facilitate a weekly check run for each assigned property (run invoice register, print checks, mail)
· Receive, organize, electronically deposit and post all rent checks or ACH transfers
· Assist in annual 1099 preparation
· Accounting related administrative support including scanning and organizing historical company records
· Work cross functionally with various departments
Candidate must have an ability to work with others on a team.
Experience with the following software is a plus: Yardi a must. Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate (Timberline), Timberscan, MRI and Microsoft Office.
Qualifications:
1. Education: High School Diploma/GED
2. Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of related accounting experience; knowledge of real estate/property management and construction is desirable, but not necessary.
3. Required Skills:
a. MS Outlook and Office skills, (Word & Excel)
b. Ability to work efficiently and independently
c. Ability to work productively with others
d. Problem solving ability
e. Ability to be detail oriented
f. Must type at least 30-40 wpm
4. Background Check & Drug Test
