Registered Nurse Weekend Supervisor Job Description

Duties:
Collaborate with DON to ensure efficient, effective, and satisfactory delivery of services and programs in the nursing departments.
Receives report on patient/resident status from previous shift, evaluates and ensures resources in place to meet needs.
Makes physical rounds assessing quality of care, intervening with provision of care, and interacting with care givers and residents Performing compliance rounds is an effective way of ensuring quality care is provided. The goal is to identify any potential areas of concern and rectify them promptly. It's vital to address issues quickly to prevent any further complications and ensure that the residents continue to receive sufficient care.
Assesses and monitors to verify patient/residents’ needs are met and policies and procedures are followed. •
Assesses critically ill residents; reports findings to physician and records observations; may provide direct care as needed.
Supervises charge nurse/nurses, certified nursing assistants’ other providers of care in carrying out their responsibility (medication pass, nursing care, documentation, treatments, supervision)
Assist in evaluating, advising, and reprimanding nursing staff with directorial approval in a professional and respectful manner.
It is essential to ensure adequate staffing levels through the implementation of work assignments and schedules, accounting for call-in replacements, and vacation and holiday schedules.
Responds and coordinates actions in emergency situations • In charge of department/center in absence of Director of Nursing Services, Administrator as necessary.
Assists with root cause analysis and Quality Improvement/ QAPI initiatives.
Ensure safe work practices are followed.
Provides empathetic communication to families, patients/residents regarding change of condition and in response to care concerns.
Ensures resident rights are respected.

Skills:
Must be a Registered Nurse in the State of TN
Strong leadership and supervisory skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Familiarity with long term care/skilled nursing facilities
Ability to lift heavy objects and assist with patient mobility
Physical Demands: This position may require constant standing/walking and repetitive motions, frequent bending/stooping, reaching, lifting/handling, pushing/pulling and occasional carrying. Weights may vary up to 20 pounds and the frequency of treatments may vary.
