Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Barista with at least one year of professional experience in a high-volume coffee shop or cafe setting. The ideal candidate has a passion for crafting exceptional coffee beverages, a strong work ethic, and a friendly demeanor. As an experienced Barista/Guest Experience Ambassador, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining the highest standards in coffee preparation and presentation. You will also be responsible for assisting hotel guests with their check in process if needed as we double as the front desk!
Responsibilities:
Coffee Preparation: Prepare and serve a wide variety of coffee beverages, including espresso-based drinks, pour-overs, and brewed coffee, ensuring consistency and adherence to quality standards.
Customer Service: Provide outstanding customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking and accurately fulfilling customer orders, and addressing any concerns or inquiries promptly and courteously.
Menu Knowledge: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the coffee and food menus, including different coffee origins, flavor profiles, dietary restrictions, and confidently guide customers in selecting the right options based on their preferences.
Equipment Maintenance: Operate, clean, and maintain coffee equipment, such as espresso machines, grinders, and brewers, following proper procedures to ensure optimal performance and cleanliness.
Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the coffee preparation station, service areas, and customer seating areas, following established sanitation and hygiene standards.
Collaborative Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with other team members, including baristas, shift supervisors, and managers, to ensure smooth operations, efficient service, and a positive work environment.
Training and Mentoring: Assist in training and mentoring new baristas, sharing your expertise, and providing guidance to ensure consistent quality and performance throughout the team.
Product Knowledge and Upselling: Stay updated on coffee industry trends, new products, and promotions, and proactively upsell and recommend additional products or upgrades to enhance the customer experience.

- Quick learner and tech savvy with various computer and mobile-based systems
- Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices, including proper handwashing, storage, and cleaning procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form
- Familiarity with Nashville including restaurants, shopping, nightlife, and current events
- Must be able to lift/push/pull/carry a minimum of 25 Ibs
- Able to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time
Education and Experience:
- Experience: Ideal candidate would possess a minimum of 1 year in coffee industry/ customer service position in a hotel or comparable environment
- Education: High School diploma required
- Certification: Food Handlers and TABC
