Job Overview:
Badger Amusements is an amusement games company, located in Waunakee, WI. We are seeking a skilled Accountant/office manager to join our team. This is a full position with flexible hours. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, analyzing financial data, preparing reports and filing taxes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in taxes and understanding of financial services.
Essential Job Functions-
· Participate in the day-to-day operations of accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and month-end close processes.
· Enter Accounts Payable invoices in QuickBooks and manage approvals from department heads
· Input expense and payment details into QuickBooks, ensure receipts are collected, and expenses are valid and properly recorded (including use tax.)
· Generate payments for accounts payable, and collect tax forms (e.g. W-9s) when required.
· Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
· Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for decision-making purposes.
· Manage and reconcile bank accounts, including monitoring cash flow.
· Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed.
· Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.
· Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
· Maintain confidentiality of financial information and exercise discretion in handling sensitive data.
· Help Issue timely and complete financial statements.
· Prepare, request and gather monthly expense reports from management.
· Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
· Verify correct payment or accrual of sales use tax and file annual reports
· Process fixed asset transactions and depreciation and prepare and file personal property tax return.
· Provide information for Workmen’s Comp Audit.
· Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings including:
· Filing Sales and Use tax monthly.
· Filing 1099’s for clients
Qualifications:
- Quickbooks Online Specialist
- QBO Payroll Specialist
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- CPA certification is preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in accounting or related field.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
