Project Manager
Job Overview:
Our 36-year-old leader in our marketplace remodeling company is seeking a project manager to prepare for building and oversee the construction of residential remodeling construction projects. The project manager will assist the production department in producing specific projects. This is to include but is not limited to the organization of schedules, timely ordering of materials, permit acquisition, organization of orders, services for customers and effective communication with clients, subcontractors, vendors and team members.
Strong residential construction knowledge is critical for this position.
The duties and skills required for this job include:
- Assisting in the planning and development of daily, weekly and monthly work schedules for all carpenters And effectively utilize subcontractors and other tradespeople as needed.
- File for all necessary municipal permits to build all projects. Complete all necessary paperwork and prepare needed documentation for application process and pay permit fees.
- Working with the production team to expedite jobs, ensure quality, ensure material availability and help foster a strong team environment.
- Communicating verbally and electronically with customers daily, weekly and monthly as the individual projects require.
- Understanding the scope of a project from the sales team, ensure it can be built as per the estimated budget.
- Assist in preparing projects to be built by carpenters: ordering materials, scheduling sub-contractors, ensuring order accuracy, on-time delivery of materials and those budgets are kept.
- Debug residential blueprints for small to medium size additions , decks and similar, develop a purchase list of items needed, place accurate orders and review order confirmation for accuracy. This is a key function of this position. The individual that applies for this position must have this skill.
- High organizational skills and computer competency are a must in this position.
- Ability to learn and understand all computer software for business applications you are trained on.
- Coordinate projects and tasks with carpenters, sub-contractors and other trades people to ensure projects come in on time, on budget with happy customers
Upon hire, in this position the Project Manager must be able to do the following:
1. Accurately read residential remodeling blueprints and create accurate material lists from them
2. Have a sense of urgency to push the schedule without sacrificing quality and company standards
3. Be technical, and also have a strong understanding of the importance of timely follow up and follow thru along with the importance of creating and developing relationships with carpenters, subcontractors, suppliers and customers
4. Effectively navigate a computer for email, basic word processing, CRM and entering basic information into various spreadsheets.
5. Understand proper building methods and techniques in order to check jobs for correctness as well as teach various carpentry skills when necessary or as needed.
6. Time management skills to meet project deadlines

Pay: $32.00 - $38.00 per hour
