Direct and coordinate clinic staff to assure high quality, optimum patient care. The Nurse Manager will oversee development and implementation of policies/procedures for the practice. This position is a wonderful opportunity to gain experience in management and leadership responsibility.

Position Key Accountabilities:
- Coordinate the schedules of the clinic physician(s) and staff to ensure adequate coverage and maximum utilization of manpower.
- Manage the duty assignments of all Staff based on availability of physician(s) and patient load.
- "Fill in" to provide coverage because of illness, vacations, or emergencies.
- Monitor clinic expenditures against budget. May compile daily and monthly administrative reports.
- Work closely with and report to Clinic Owner. Help oversee Human Resources, Purchasing, and laboratories.
- Direct proper handling of patient charts, coordinate with hospitals for admissions and/or scheduling, make decisions involving personnel changes and assignments, type and quantity of supplies needed, and proper solution to any problems arising with patients over scheduling, appointments, or charges.
- Handle phone calls from patients regarding medical problems and laboratory results. Refer questions or problems of an unusual or unfamiliar medical nature to physicians.
- Monitor and maintain inventory in order to assure efficient clinic operation.
- Ensure compliance with specifications of regulatory and accrediting agencies in order to meet federal, state, and local standards.
- Instruct staff in proper examination room techniques and procedures and provide education and/or demonstration of new procedures in order to update knowledge of nursing care.
- Manage Human Resources activities with regard to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
- Function as the clinic liaison to referring physicians, vendors, the public, and other departments within the institution as needed for the clinic. This includes telephone and mail service, equipment maintenance and repair, human resources, safety, security, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
Current nursing licensure in the State of Texas.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing school.
Minimum Experience:
Three years nursing experience; prior supervisory experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
