Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the flow of inventory into and out of the warehouse is smooth and efficient, that product is stored according to the highest standards, and that correct, dependable information concerning inventory is maintained and provided to the proper management, sales, and administrative personnel. Receiving Inventory:
- Check-in product at delivery. Verify physical count and lot numbers against packing slip information. Ensure all quantities and lot numbers are correct.
- Enter Receipt of Goods
- Ensure that products are put in their proper place.
Inventory Control:
- Conduct regular audits of inventory data to ensure accuracy and integrity
- Implement process improvements to enhance inventory management efficiency and systems to ensure new processes are followed
- Utilize inventory management software and systems to track inventory
- Oversee germination testing. Ensure all samples are pulled and tested timely.
Managing Physical Inventory Counts:
- Verify and reconcile physical count against computer count.
- Investigate and adjust discrepancies between physical count and computer count
Managing Warehouse:
- Organize storage areas by species and varieties to include a labeled space for all products in inventory
Reports:
- Develop, maintain, and provide management and sales personnel inventory reports that may help plan and develop sales strategies.
- Provide current reports on inventory levels, costs, and trends necessary for budgeting issues, along with other reports that may be requested.
Qualifications:
- Forklift certification and knowledge of handling equipment
- Ability to lift 50-pound bags
- A detail-minded person with good interpersonal and management skills and a proven ability to plan, organize, implement, and manage projects
- Must have a valid NC driver's license, and a clean driving record. Ability to drive a six-wheel truck a plus (commercial license not necessary)
- Must be a high school graduate, college a plus
- Candidate should have good computer skills and knowledge of Excel and Word. Power Point and/or experience working with a computer-based accounting or inventory maintenance program would be a huge plus
- Background or knowledge of agriculture and/or farming would also be helpful
