Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Traffic Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will work on a wide variety of exciting projects in the DC metropolitan area. Duties:
- Preparing various transportation studies including Traffic Impact Studies, Parking Studies, Pedestrian Studies, Safety Studies and Transportation Management Plans
- Preparing Maintenance of Traffic/Traffic Control Plans
- Conducting traffic analysis using SYNCHRO and Highway Capacity Manual software
- Preparing technical memoranda
- Preparing illustrative drawings, charts and graphs for presentations and reports
- Conducting field work and collecting transportation data, including traffic counts
- Project Management
- Participating in client and agency meetings
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, urban planning (transportation) or a related technical field. An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in the use of the following software: MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with the following software is a plus: Synchro, VISSIM, CAD, GIS and Adobe Illustrator
- Knowledge of project management principles and practices
- Familiarity with DDOT and MDOT design standards, a plus
- PE/EIT preferred
