The Senior Director, Union Payroll will be instrumental in the design, administration and ongoing operational services of the union payroll function, enabling efficient and effective ways to deliver standardized payroll solutions to the organization. This role will be pivotal in improving the operational efficiency and delivery of union payroll services as well as enhancing the capability across the teams with the goal of developing a best-in-class shared service
Job Description:
- Provide coordination/oversight over the internal payroll tax team
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
- Provide support, training, mentoring, and leadership to staff on an ongoing basis to ensure a fully efficient payroll operation, overall professional growth, and the team’s ability to meet all deadlines
- Ensure that all federal, state, and local payroll taxes are correctly withheld, reported, paid, and filed in compliance with laws and regulations
- Ensure the accurate, timely review and reconciliation of federal, state, and local taxable wages and withholding tax, unemployment tax, and disability insurance tax for multiple legal entities in the U.S. including the review of year end balancing of W-2’s and related federal and state agency forms to the payroll system
Core Competencies
- 8+ years leading payroll processes
- Union population experience
- Strong leader - (this role has 5-6 direct reports)
- Workday proficiency highly preferred
- Must have managerial experience / previous experience having direct reports
- Workday pref but not required
- Intermediate/Advanced skills in Excel
The annual base salary range is $150k to $210k. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
