The Level 1 Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food items in accordance with established recipes and standards. This role requires basic culinary skills, the ability to follow directions, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Prepare and cook food items according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Ingredient Handling: Properly measure, mix, and prepare ingredients for recipes, including chopping, slicing, dicing, and other food preparation techniques.
- Station Management: Maintain assigned station, ensuring it is stocked, organized, and clean throughout the shift.
- Cooking Techniques: Utilize various cooking methods such as grilling, frying, baking, and steaming to prepare food items.
- Quality Control: Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring consistency and adherence to standards.
- Sanitation: Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handwashing, cleaning and sanitizing work areas, and storing food items safely.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely food production.
- Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring inventory levels, notifying supervisors of low stock or expired items.
- Customer Service: Occasionally interact with customers to address inquiries or special requests.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary environment preferred but not required.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Culinary training or certification is a plus.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, knife skills, and kitchen equipment operation.
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, ability to follow directions, and a team-oriented mindset.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Job Summary: The Utility Person is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas. This role involves performing a variety of tasks, including dishwashing, cleaning, and basic maintenance to support the smooth operation of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dishwashing: Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment.
- Cleaning: Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, equipment, and dining areas, including floors, counters, and tables.
- Trash Management: Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables in accordance with facility guidelines.
- Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, and minor repairs.
- Stocking: Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring items are properly labeled and organized.
- Equipment Handling: Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including dishwashers, garbage disposals, and cleaning tools.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Support: Provide support to kitchen staff as needed, including food prep assistance and other tasks as directed by supervisors.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and report inventory levels of cleaning supplies and other materials.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a utility or custodial role preferred but not required.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and safety procedures.
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
