About our Role
Electrical Field Analysts collect electrical data at client locations so electrical engineers can produce power system studies, such as arc flash and short circuit. These electrical safety studies, recommendations and equipment labeling are then provided, and presented, to the client by the individual in this position (or designee). Electrical Field Analysts are responsible for:
- Travel weekly to client sites across North America to gather electrical distribution system information such as wire size, length, circuit breaker and fuse info, transformer data, panel data, etc.
- Survey facilities and collect data while exposed to energized industrial electrical systems
- Use electrical knowledge and experience to determine the setup of some electrical configurations
- Support engineers in power studies of client sites
- Collect/document data and create field one-lines of electrical systems
- Present finished reports to clients and explain the findings and recommendations
- Use proprietary software tools supplied by SEAM Group
- Affix safety labels to electrical equipment
- Build and maintain positive work relationships with management, staff members, and external contacts
- Complete expense reports in a timely fashion
- Book hotels, air travel, and car rentals for work travel
- Arrive to work on time and maintain a positive attendance record
- Perform any other duties and projects as assigned
Qualified Electrical Field Analysts will have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- A strong safety orientation as well as being willing and able to wear up to Category 4 Personal Protective Equipment while on the job
- Ability to pass a basic electrical skills test and be qualified to perform the functions above
- Basic computer skills in current software platforms, as well as the ability to work with mobile devices, such as tablets, is required
- Ability to speak and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- Ability to behave in a professional fashion to enhance customer confidence in our company
Successful Electrical Field Analysts will have the following education and experience:
- Five plus (5+) years of industrial electrical experience, working with building electrical distribution systems in an industrial setting is required
- State Certified Electrical Contractor, Master Electrician, or Licensed Electrician in the State of Florida
- Comfortable pulling permits for job sites in the state of Florida
- Experience with Arc Flash testing and data collection is preferred
- Thermography experience is preferred
- Lock out/tag out experience is preferred
- Clear criminal record
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record.
- High school diploma or GED required and technical/electrical background
This is a physically demanding role, including but not limited to the following:
- Regularly lifting 50lbs to 100lbs (tools, equipment, electrical panels/panel doors)
- Regularly climbing up and down ladders, including climbing 30+ feet
- Regularly walking at least 10,000 steps per day
- Regularly traveling between customer sites in manufacturing or distribution-like settings, including sites with loud noises and exposure to elements that require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Safe and competent lift machinery operation is a must
- Safe and competent lifting techniques is a must, industry standard training provided
- Ability to regularly operate and understand tablet and PC oriented technology and software, including taking and uploading pictures
