Security guards are required to work in a school setting. At the assigned school and under the direction of a supervisor, security guards will maintain order; reduce injury and reduce property loss; provide routine protection of the facilities by making continuous tours throughout the building; serve as an initial security and safety responder for the events and escalate and/or report as appropriate; and respond politely and in a courteous, professional manner to staff concerns.
These positions are primarily Monday Through Friday Day Shift.
These are variable hourly positions and can change based on the needs of the business. $17.00/hour.
The security guards will perform the following duties:
- Supervise assigned area
- Assist in the overall security of the building or grounds
- Patrol the buildings and grounds as scheduled
- Insure doors are secure
- Document key areas have been checked (tour of duty system)
- Check all corridors and stairwells
- Assist the public with directions
- Contact the main office regarding visitors
- Maintain a high level of visibility and awareness at all times
- Report breaches of security to Principal and Supervisor immediately
- Perform other duties as requested by Management
- Report to school administration as appropriate

- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
- Ability to do heavy foot patrol, 8 hour shifts standing/walking (in all types of weather, if applicable)
- Friendly, customer service oriented attitude and ability to work with children
- Must be able to pass background and drug screening
- Fit for heavy foot patrol (standing and walking for 8 hours
- Flexible scheduling and availability (work events – weekends and evenings)

- 20 hour security certificate
- 21 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
