The individual with this position will have to coordinate between the machine shop, quotation department and the customer. This position is mainly an on-site position but might involve up to 10% field service work. This engineering position will entail a dual role with hands-on tasks along with office responsibilities. It is expected that the individual will need training as part of the on-boarding process and Sulzer will accommodate.

Preferred 3 years’ experience in rotating equipment repairs

Rotating equipment manufacturing

Rotating equipment package design and assembly

Vibration analysis

Field Service-Overhauls

Proficient with CAD software: AutoDesk or Solidworks

Preferred Knowhow of the following topics

Rolling element bearings, sleeve babbitt bearings

Oil seals and their functionality

Vibration spectrums and how to interpret them

Alignment

Proficient in the usage of micrometers

Familiarity with seal and bearing clearances to shafts is preferred if not it is expected this topic is learnt by the engineer as part of on-the-job training.
Role
-
The mechanical engineer will need to bridge the communication to the customers on the mechanical portion of the repair.

The mechanical engineer will need to be involved on the discovery side of the inspections to assist in developing an accurate workscope.

Should be proficient in CAD software to document design changes and create drawings to be shared with the customers.

This role will require the individual to be hands-on and involved in the day-to day operations.

The role will require performing or confirming precise measurements using micrometers and calipers.
