Job Overview:
Inland Cellular seeks a motivated and skilled Network Engineer to join our Team of Telecommunications/Broadband Professionals. The successful candidate will be a problem solver, critical thinker, good communicator, eager learner, and a positive attitude. The individual will lead others and drive projects for Inland Cellular and its different affiliates.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Plan, design, and optimize 4G/5G architectural solutions including SDN, virtual and cloud-native Core, OSS, BSS, and Edge networks.
-Perform planning, design, and optimization of telephony networks, including VoLTE/SIP (Experience with VoNR would be a bonus but not necessary).
-Perform network planning to ensure proper dimensioning, parameter configurations, capacity, and load balance across physical, virtual, cloud, and application domains to meet the customer's network requirements.
-Work closely with other vendors within the telco eco-system (Mavenir, Ericsson, Nokia, etc.) to ensure a strong understanding of their products and how they integrate.
-Solve complex problems independently amid ambiguity through requirements gathering, industry research, and collaboration with existing assets.
-Foster a collaborative relationship with vendors and partners to develop, communicate, and present architectures, solutions, and strategies to meet the customer’s needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-15+ years of overall wireless telecom industry experience as a service provider and/or equipment vendor designing, optimizing, and managing the 4G/5G wireless core networks.
-Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
-Strong knowledge of management and orchestration of virtual/cloud environments and orchestration platforms for 4G/5G networks. (e.g., VIM, Kubernetes, OpenStack, VMWare).
-Expert-level experience in designing and troubleshooting capabilities of virtual/cloud-native EPC/IMS/5GC network architecture, call flows, and services.
-Strong knowledge of Transport design techniques and standards for Fronthaul/ Midhaul/ Backhaul.
-Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
-Strong knowledge of Fault, Configuration, Assurance, Performance, and Security (FCAPS) management for wireless networks in an enterprise environment.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
-Familiarity with RAN network infrastructure and technologies.
-Familiarity with various open source and open interface initiatives such as TIP, ONAP, and O-RAN Alliance.
