Summary :
The Security Associate works alongside the Director of Security to ensure the safe and efficient entry of club members and guests into the facility. This includes operating security gates, educating members on entry procedures, and providing assistance within the facility.
The Security Associate reports to the Director of Security and is responsible for documenting individuals who are denied entry. Responsible for remotely closing front doors when necessary, and facilitating day passes for media and visitors. Additionally, they monitor equipment at the front desk, such as security cameras, intercom, radio, and phones.. Secure checkpoints as needed. Collaborate with the membership department (retention and recruiting) to report on frequent non-member visitors who could potentially become members.
Duties and Responsibilities : include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
- Works to ensure property entry of visitors to the Club and monitors and operates the new technology discussed above.
- Communicates effectively with membership, security and events about what has been learned through work at the gates and with visitors.
- Welcomes on-site visitors and assists them in finding the event or person they are looking for.
- Greet guests in a professional, friendly and hospitable manner.
- Monitors the voicemail and forwards calls appropriately. Answers and properly forwards incoming phone calls.
- Answer basic questions about the organization such as address, etc.
- Coordinate Fed Ex, UPS delivery.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Basic understanding of security concepts and reporting. The candidate should be able to learn to use the new technology to assist members, guests and others to enter the Club and at the same time should use the new technology to exclude people who have no business at the Club. Must be trustworthy and without any conflict of interest or motives with respect to security of the facility and operation of the technology.
- Should be able to manage difficult or emotional customer situations and respond promptly to customer needs. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
- Focus on solving conflict; maintains confidentiality; good listener; willing to try new things; keeps own emotions in check. Most have strong oral and written communication skills. Clear and persuasive speech. Responds well to questions
- Must arrive on time and must have very regular attendance. This is a crucial part of the job. Follows instructions, responds to management direction
Education or Experience: BA preferred with at least six months experience in similar capacity. For extraordinary candidate will consider AA degree with one year experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend memos and instructions.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills a must. Ability to master the new technology related to security is essential to the job.
