Position Title: Engineering Project Controls Manager
Reports to: Director of Project Controls
Position Status: Permanent – Full Time
FLSA Status: Exempt
Location: Pasadena, TX
Work Schedule: Standard schedule is Monday through Friday.
Purpose: Project Controls Manager is responsible for the leadership of the Engineering Project Controls team. This includes supporting and executing business strategy, developing high-performance teams, and managing all aspects of Engineering Project Controls
Core Job Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of the Engineering Project Controls.
- Coordinate and interface with Engineering Department and Teams.
- Determine department objectives and priorities with Leadership.
- Serve as the Technical Advisor and provide senior-level input and evaluation on Project Controls projects company wide.
- Prepare summary reports to communicate the status of projects to Leadership.
- Develop and maintain baseline schedules
- Conduct Progress Updates
- Resource Planning for Project Execution
- Develop cost loaded schedules.
- Analyze schedules and recommending recovery/mitigation actions
- Float Path / Critical Path Analysis
- Track quantities, hours and productivity metrics and analyze variance root causes
- Generate summary reports, KPIs, metrics and dashboards
- Partner with Engineering Staff to ensure consistent Project Controls procedures are implemented company-wide
- Anticipate and solve complex Project Controls problems.
- Lead all department planning, and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, analysis, and ongoing recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare various Project Controls plans and reports, financial summaries, and related activities for Leadership.
- Other duties assigned by Leadership.
- Establish and maintain a culture of aligned with H+M Core Values.
- Manage ongoing development of assigned Project Controls staff.

Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years related professional experience.
- Minimum of 5 years planning and scheduling experience in P6
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field. Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
- Experience in Project Controls on direct hire Engineering projects preferred.
- Experience managing a Project Controls team preferred.
- Engineering cost management experience on direct hire projects preferred.
- Experienced in Project Controls management on Design Services through EPC projects preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to interface, coordinate, troubleshoot with Finance and Accounting teams.
- Experience in conceptual up-front project planning preferred.
