The Innovation Center is located in Orlando in the heart of the Central Florida Research Park right next to the University of Central Florida.
The Position:
We are seeking an experienced Electronics and Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team. As an Electronics and Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for researching, designing, developing, programming, implementing, testing, and commissioning PLC-based control systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and software developers to deliver integrated automation solutions that meet our clients' requirements. The team member must have a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties:

Design and develop mechatronic systems including robotics, motion control, PLC programs, and automation equipment.

Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to integrate sensors, actuators, and other components into machine designs.

Develop control algorithms and implement them using PLCs.

Program and configure HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.

Troubleshoot and debug hardware and software issues.

Develop functional design specifications and documentation.

Collaborate with electrical engineers to design control panel layouts and select components.

Work closely with project managers to ensure projects are completed within scope, budget, and schedule.

Perform on-site system integration, testing, and commissioning of automation solutions.

Troubleshoot and debug control systems, identifying and resolving hardware and software issues.

Optimize control system performance through data analysis and system tuning.

Document system designs, specifications, and procedures for reference and future maintenance.
The Requirements:

US Citizen or Approved to work in the U.S.
-
Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Five years of experience designing and implementing industrial automation and control systems.

Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) and familiarity with PACs.

Strong understanding of mechatronic system design principles and integration of mechanical and electrical components.

Experience with robotics programming and motion control systems.

Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, CAN, etc.).

Familiarity with HMI/SCADA software and visualization tools.

Experience with Siemens Hardware and TIA Portal Programming Software

Prior exposure to a variety of technologies, and the ability to learn new technologies on the fly.

Experience working in startups is preferred.
