POSITION SUMMARY:
The Housekeeper position is responsible for the cleaning, sanitization, and general upkeep of the individual’s rooms utilizing a person-centered approach to assist the individuals in fulfilling their desires and needs for an independent life and general areas of the facility as well.
This position will work closely with the Maintenance Department to ensure the facility is clean, maintained and safe for both individuals and staff and that inventory and supplies are readily available to meet the needs of both staff and individuals. In addition to the routine daily and weekly cleaning, this position will assist with cleaning and general upkeep projects on a rotational or as needed basis. Finally this position will assist with meeting compliance regulations by following regulatory and facility policies and procedures including necessary documentation. This position will need to work closely with staff and individuals to ensure the housekeeping needs are being met.
Work performed will be of a hands-on, manual and detailed nature. This position requires a working knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitizing techniques, OSHA and infection control procedures and regulations related to housekeeping and other regulations related to the care and treatment of Disabled Individuals. Position requires an ability to operate housekeeping equipment and a commitment to environmental excellence for both staff and clients. This position also requires an ability to follow directions, adhere to a cleaning schedule, adhere to policies and procedures, an attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. This position will have frequent contact with other staff and individuals. A positive, cooperative and professional attitude is essential and required at all times. This position will report directly to the Director of Ancillary Services. Work will require some self direction and the need to prioritize assignments with-in the scope of supervisor’s direction and the immediate needs of the staff and individuals.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is primarily in the facility but may include other settings as necessary. Work hours are generally day hours. Holidays and evening hours are assigned by supervisor based on the needs of the facility. May be required to work overtime hours including mandatory overtime in emergency situations. Work will present exposure to bloodbourne pathogens, hazardous materials and infection control situations.
