Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in supporting and empowering individuals on their journey to overcome substance addictions. Your main objective will be guiding members towards leading addiction-free lives. The ideal candidate will provide assistance and guidance to individuals in need, focusing on addiction support.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains appropriate documentation, including internal personnel records, operating reports and specific duties and analyses.
- Complete clinical services as appropriate by scope, including but not limited to, substance abuse counseling individually and in a group setting and substance abuse focused case management services.
- Responsible for being a role model to persons with substance/mental health use disorders.
- Maintain/ complete and able to facilitate recovery related groups, teaching relaxation strategies, facilitating supportive interventions.
- Provides mentor persons with a substance use disorder and others in the recovery process.
Skills:
- Proven work experience as a Peer Support Specialist or similar role
- Highly compassionate and attentive to detail
- Excellent Verbal and Communication skills
- Ability to handle crisis intervention situations effectively
- Proficient in crisis management strategies
- Excellent mentoring skills for guiding individuals

Experience:
- Addiction counseling: 1 year (Required)
- Peer Recovery Support: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
- Certified Peer Recovery Supporter Certification (Required)
