National Capital Treatment & Recovery, formerly Phoenix House, a substance abuse treatment facility in Arlington, VA is currently seeking a full-time Residential Specialist to join our Men's Residential Program. This is a 12 bed program for all Adult Men. Responsibilities include monitoring the therapeutic milieu and client activities, responding to client’s crises and emergencies as needed. This position requires the individual to possess good boundary guidelines within the scope and setting of the therapeutic interaction. This position assures a safe and drug free environment and provides Life Skills and 12 Step Education. This position is full-time and Tuesday-Saturday 11pm-7am.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a substance abuse counselor (CSAC-A, CAC, CSAC) required within 6 months of employment.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum one (1) year experience working in a substance abuse treatment setting preferred
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of addiction treatment and of 12 Step recovery process preferred
- Certified in First Aid and CPR, Medication Management a plus
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
